Homogenizers thoroughly mix a product so that it becomes homogeneous. Homogenization is necessary to render a product with a uniform level of flavor, ingredients, and consistency and so that ingredients are mixed enough to not separate on the shelf. Homogenizers use fluid pressure and/or mechanical force to not only mix the product but also to break down solids into smaller sizes. They can either operate in batches or continuously.
